Pediatric Heart Institute Grand Rounds Lecture
The Pediatric Heart Institute holds quarterly Grand Rounds on Wednesdays at 7am in the Vanderbilt Theater throughout the year.
Rollin A. Daniel, Jr., M.D. Lectures
The Rollin A. Daniel Lectures honor Rollin A. Daniel, M.D., a pioneering surgeon whose leadership helped establish thoracic surgery as a distinct clinical and educational discipline at Vanderbilt. A Vanderbilt graduate and former Chief Resident in Surgery, Dr. Daniel assumed direction of the Thoracic Surgical Service in 1941 and guided its development during the formative decades when thoracic surgery remained within the Department of Surgery. Dr. Daniel’s influence extended across Vanderbilt’s early multi hospital training programs, where he helped build the foundations of modern thoracic and cardiothoracic surgical education. The annual lectureship recognizes his lasting contributions as a surgeon, educator, and architect of thoracic surgery at Vanderbilt.
