  • No.  Currently, the Vanderbilt Nutrition Clinic cannot offer Telehealth live videoconferencing to let you interact with your provider.

  • Yes.  Due to insurance and provider licensure regulations, all visits to the Vanderbilt Nutrition clinic require a provider referral to schedule an appointment.  If you have specific questions about your insurance coverage, we recommend calling your insurance provider for more detailed information.  For questions about private pay, please contact our clinic.

  • Masks are now optional for most patients, visitors, and employees in our hospitals and clinics. We ask that you respect others’ choices about masking. Some patients, including those with respiratory infection symptoms, will be asked to wear a mask. 

    We continue to ask that you avoid visiting or accompanying a patient if you have symptoms of illness. We also ask that you continue to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer when you enter or leave a patient's room.

    These requirements may change occasionally and differ among our seven hospitals and hundreds of clinic locations. Please review the specifics below and discuss other details with hospital or clinic staff.

  • 2 visitors may be in a patient's room with you during your appointment.

  • As you prepare for your visit at the Vanderbilt Nutrition Clinic, please make sure to bring your insurance card, any food records for your Registered Dietitian to review, and information on current medications and/or supplements.  Please also take the time to fill out the pre-visit information through My Health at Vanderbilt (MHAV).  To complete this information or create your account, please visit https://myhealthatvanderbilt.com/Authentication/Login

  • We ask that you check with your insurance company before your visit to ensure they cover for our services.  We bill for " Medical Nutrition Therapy", billing code 97802.  The Nutrition Clinic also bills under the hospital as the provider (Vanderbilt Hospital Outpatient Charge).  If your insurance does not cover for our services, please give the clinic a call at 615-936-3952.
