For Our Alumni

2022

In 1929, the Dietetic Internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center graduated the first class of dietetic interns.  The class of 2022-2023 will be the 94th graduating class.

We train future practitioners through a lens of health equity and literacy, connecting food and nutrition knowledge to real-world situations.  Through reflection, hands-on- experiences and faculty-preceptor mentoring, interns learn to use their voices as leaders in diverse practice settings where food and nutrition advocacy matters.

Charitable Gifts

There are two opportunities to support future dietitians in training:

Alumni Scholarship Fund for Historically Excluded Groups – Students self-identify in one or more of historically excluded or underrepresented groups based on ethnicity, gender, or military status. Inclusion and diversity strengthen our profession.   The number of scholarships offered and the amount of awards vary from year to year, based on funds available.  On your check, designate Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Alumni Programming Fund – This fund supports student programming.  For the 2022 sixteen graduates, this fund provided the following:  lab coats, registration to “virtual” FNCE, Health-Wellness Coaching Workshops and a Farm-Culinary-Writers Workshop. On your check, designate Alumni Programming Fund.
