Clinical Interests

I am a nuclear medicine physician, Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences with Tenure and Director of Nuclear Medicine and Positron Emission Tomography at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. I am certified by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and the American Board of Pathology. I am past-President of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and lifetime member of the American Board of Nuclear Medicine. I am the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine and serve on the Editorial Board of several imaging journals. I have co-edited five textbooks and published over 160 peer-reviewed articles including societal guidelines and 70 book chapters. I have given lectures at more than 100 national and 35 international meetings. I participate in both the Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Residency training program. Since 1990 when I became a faculty in Nuclear Medicine, there have been 57 Nuclear Medicine residents in the program. My primary expertise and research interest revolves around PET/CT and SPECT/CT primarily in oncology, but also in cardiology and neurology.
