Patty Jones, Research Analyst II

Research Analyst II in the Department of Biomedical Informatics.  Attended the University of Illinois, Fire Service Institute and has served as Firefighter-2, EMT, Safety Trainer and Hazardous Materials Specialist for 8yrs.  Patty also worked at Abbott Laboratories for 12yr as a Sr. Facility Engineer Coordinator while maintaining site OSHA and FDA audits, Inspections & Safety programs.  She has been with Vanderbilt University since 2009.  Prior to her position in Dept. of Biomedical Informatics she was a researcher in the Department of Epidemiology, focusing primarily on the Southern Community Cohort Study (SCCS) a unique national resource for assessing determinants of racial/ethnic differentials in diseases with strong barriers of education, income, remote geographic locations and lack of healthcare and healthcare opportunities.  Active member of the Vanderbilt Patient & Family Advisory Counsel
