Alfred De Leon, MS
Fall 2026
I currently work in Health IT at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where I support clinical operations and technology initiatives that directly impact patient care and healthcare workflows. My professional journey has given me experience troubleshooting complex technical issues, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, and leading projects that improve operational efficiency. Before beginning the MS in Applied Clinical Informatics program, I completed my bachelor’s degree while continuing to grow professionally through certifications and leadership opportunities. Outside of my career at VUMC, I also serve as President of the Executive Committee for a nonprofit organization, where I enjoy helping guide organizational strategy and governance.
My interests in clinical informatics center around workflow optimization, healthcare operations, leadership, and the thoughtful implementation of technology to improve both the patient and provider experience. I enjoy analyzing complex systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping bridge the gap between technical teams and clinical staff. As healthcare continues to evolve through artificial intelligence, analytics, and digital transformation, I am excited to learn from my classmates and faculty while developing the skills needed to lead meaningful organizational change. My long-term goal is to serve in healthcare executive leadership, where I can combine technology, strategy, and servant leadership to improve healthcare delivery on a larger scale.
