Dr. Cheng is a product of graduate and postdoctoral training at Vanderbilt DBMI. He completed an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and a master's in engineering management at Duke University. Dr. Cheng is combining data from a variety of sources (EHR, claims, registries) to understand treatment burden in patients with breast cancer. He is also helping to develop and disseminate REDCap technology to extract data from EHRs for research using FHIR APIs. With expertise in database and API data collection and analysis, Dr. Cheng is currently working to develop innovative methods to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and real-timeliness of results for clinical trials.
