The Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) Laboratory Animal Medicine externship program is designed to be an introduction to Comparative Medicine and/or Comparative Pathology for veterinary students/veterinarians. The experience can be matched to the extern’s interests and culminates in a short project and presentation. Externships may last from two to six (2-6) weeks; the number of positions available and the schedule are dependent on mentor availability. Please note that Vanderbilt does not have any funding available for this externship program and all travel and housing will be the responsibility of the extern.
