Samantha Huffaker, MS, PhD

Senior Program Manager

Dr. Samantha Huffaker is a Senior Program Manager in the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer’s Center. Prior to coming to VUMC, Samantha worked at Vanderbilt University as a Program Manager in the Provost Central Offices. In 2015, Samantha was appointed as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) and served as the Staff Lead and Workforce Analyst at the US Department of Labor in the Division of Strategic Investments for the TAACCCT Program, a $1.9 Billion capacity building program. For her PMF rotation, she served as Associate Program Director at the National Science Foundation in the Division of Graduate Education’s NSF Research Traineeship Program. From 2011 to 2015, Samantha served in multiple positions for Tennessee’s $24 Million National Science Foundation Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) Program. She filled the roles of Project Administrator, Director of Reporting, Communications, and Assessment as well as Outreach Director. She received both her master’s degree in College Student Personnel and her doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Tennessee. Samantha has significant experience in program building, evaluation and assessment, administration of capacity building programs at the state and federal levels, post-award management for workforce and research programs, contract management, finance management, STEM outreach, and communications.
