Metabolic Physiology Shared Resource (MPSR)
The Metabolic Physiology Shared Resource (MPSR) provides DRC investigators with a platform for the design, execution, and interpretation of highly specialized procedures for conducting experiments in vivo. As depicted in the schematic below, the design of the MPSR enables the translation of metabolic methods and findings from preclinical organisms, such as zebrafish, mice, and rats, to larger animals and ultimately humans. The rationale for the structure of the MPSR is that the basic tenets of experimental design and methodologies are largely species-independent, whereas each species has its unique advantages.
- Mouse studies are provided by the Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center
