Kristin attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she graduated with her B.S. in Molecular & Cellular Biology (2012). She is currently a third-year student in the Department of Cancer Biology and is conducting research under the mentorship of Dr. Julie Sterling. Her thesis work involves the use of 3D tissue-engineered bone constructs to investigate the effects of the physical bone microenvironment on metastatic tumors from patients as well as novel therapeutics for the treatment of tumor-induced bone disease (TIBD).
