Bethany Newkirk, MA, CCC-SLP, has been a Research Speech-Language Pathologist at the Vanderbilt Stuttering Lab since 2023. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from Purdue University and her Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Before joining the lab, Bethany accumulated six years of experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including time spent as a travel therapist, where she provided communication support to individuals of all ages. Her research expertise encompasses phonetic analysis, vocal training, and preschool stuttering. In her free time, Bethany enjoys watercolor painting, running, and playing tennis.
