Perioperative Support Services provides support for 60 operating rooms and for three patient holding rooms, including patient recovery areas. The Perioperative Support team consists of operating room tech assistants (ORTA), who provide clinical support; of perioperative support techs (PST), who assist with room turnover, equipment availability, and multiple support requests; and of transporters, who move case carts. Our main responsibility is to maintain a sterile environment for patients and for surgical teams throughout the OR and throughout patient and family waiting areas. We are the liaison between multiple service lines to provide maximum patient safety and care.
