At Vanderbilt Eye Institute (VEI), we are committed to advancing knowledge in eye and vision health. As of 2023, VEI was 3rd in the nation in NIH funding, with over $10 million in grants. Our faculty are award-winning clinicians and scientists.
We are committed to sharing our love of discovery with the next generation. Each of our 3rd and 4th-year ophthalmology residents completes a project with a presentation and manuscript. Every Vanderbilt medical student has 3 months of dedicated research time to learn the process of rigorous scientific inquiry and to contribute to the body of medical knowledge.
