The Influenza Peer Vaccination Program is a convenient way for departments to increase vaccination rates. Access to the flu vaccine is expanded by allowing designated staff to vaccinate coworkers anytime. We are requesting that all departments with the ability to provide influenza vaccination to co-workers utilize this program.
Eligibility:
- Department must have a designated medication refrigerator that has been inspected by Pharmacy to store flu vaccine
- Department must maintain a log of refrigerator temps to be checked twice daily
- Designated vaccinator must be a licensed nurse, pharmacist or PA
If you meet the above eligibility criteria, the department manager can register staff in their area to become peer vaccinators. Managers can begin the registration process at the start of the flu season.
