This is a Vanderbilt University Medical Center annual event providing flu vaccination to faculty and staff at no charge.
Flulapalooza® XII will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 6 am to 6 pm in the tent behind Light Hall.
Regional Hospitals Fight the Flu Events
To receive a flu vaccine at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH), Vanderbilt Bedford County Hospital (VBCH), and Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital (VTHH), you can visit a Fight the Flu event on the following dates:
Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH): October 2, 7:00am – 5:00pm
Vanderbilt Bedford County Hospital (VBCH): September 27, 6:30am – 1:00pm
Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital (VTHH): October 2, 11:00am – 2:00pm
The following flu vaccines will be available at Flulapalooza®:
- Fluarix - Standard dose, trivalent inactivated vaccine (TIV) for individuals 6 months to 64 years of age.
- Fluad - Adjuvanted, trivalent inactivated vaccine (TIV) for individuals 65years of age and older.
*People with egg allergy CAN receive the age-appropriate vaccine, as egg allergy is not a contraindication to Fluarix or Fluad.
**Flucelvax will not be available at Flulapalooza. Flucelvax-cell-cultured, trivalent inactivated vaccine (TIV) for individuals 6 months and older is indicated for individuals with a severe reaction to a prior influenza vaccine. In alignment with latest CDC guidance, Flucelvax will be reserved only for those patients who have a history of severe reaction to other influenza vaccines. Please consult with your provider, and if Flucelvax is recommended, you can present to OHC 7-4:30PM Monday-Friday to receive this vaccine.
TIPS:
- Wear short sleeves or have sleeves rolled up
- Don't forget your Vanderbilt University or Vanderbilt University Medical Center ID badge
- Stagger staff participation
- Food and drink are not allowed in the tent.
