Dr. Molly Ford joins our surgical faculty after completing a fellowship in colorectal surgery at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is interested in all areas of colorectal surgery, but specifically colon and rectal cancer, fecal incontinence, inflammatory bowel disease, and benign anorectal disease.

During her training, Dr. Ford received numerous awards and accolades including the William Fletcher Surgical Research Award in 2010. She was awarded Outstanding Senior Surgical Resident in 2011 at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. In 2012, she received the Donald Trunkey Award for Surgical Ethics and Professionalism.

Research:

Her research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals including Diseases of the Colon and Rectum, Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Archives of Surgery. Dr. Ford is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colorectal Surgery. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Some of her abstracts are online at PubMed.

Education:

In 2002, Dr. Ford received her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and Physiology from the University of Wyoming in Laramie with University Honors. She received her Medical Degree at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland in 2006.

Post-Graduate Education:

Dr. Ford completed her general surgery residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland in 2012. She then completed her Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans in 2013.
