Elisa Friedman, MS, BA

Associate Vice President

Elisa Friedman is Associate Vice President in the Office of Community Health and Engagement at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. A staunch advocate for addressing barriers to health and well-being, she works alongside internal teams and community partners to improve health outcomes for all. Prior to joining VUMC, Elisa worked with community health centers and nonprofit health systems in Boston for almost fifteen years. Although the focus of her work has varied, the common theme in Elisa's work is a commitment to community engagement and to using data and systems approaches to improve health and well-being. Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, Elisa has worked in Mozambique, Angola, Brazil, El Salvador, and Honduras. She received a B.A. from Vassar College and a MSc from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
