The Sherwood and Bohannon Labs aim to better understand and treat infections that impact vulnerable populations such as the critically ill, burn-injured, elderly and immune suppressed. We study the innate immune system in vivo and in vitro in both human and mouse models to advance current knowledge and discover novel approaches to modulate the immune system and improve patient outcomes.
