Lauren M. Tetz, PhD

Lauren Tetz earned her PhD in Toxicology from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health in 2012. During her doctoral work, she examined the influence of the environmental toxicant, di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate on oxidative stress and inflammatory responses in human placenta and extra-placental membranes. Lauren is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the laboratory of Dr. David Aronoff in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt. In her current research, she uses in vitro human extra-placental cultures and primary placental macrophages as models to study the influence of environmental toxicants on host susceptibility to infectious agents, such as Group B Streptococcus, during pregnancy.
