John M. Fahrenholz, MD

Allergy and Immunology

Dr. Fahrenholz is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Allergy and Clinical Immunology in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the Ohio State University followed by internal medicine residency training at Scripps Mercy Hospital and subspecialty fellowship training in allergy and clinical immunology at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California.

Dr. Fahrenholz’s specialty clinical care focus has included rare disorders such as adult primary immunodeficiency and systemic mast cell disease for many years. This clinical experience led him to the realization of the critical importance for patients to have access to centers with broad expertise and a formal collaborative approach for the comprehensive assessment of undiagnosed disorders. Time for listening, time for reflection and time for collaboration are key foundational components that fuel his enthusiasm for the center.
