Andrew Well, MD, MPH, MSHCT
Andrew Well, MD, MPH, MSHCT, is a Research Assistant Professor of Cardiac Surgery at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Director of Patient-Centered Outcomes in the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, and Co-Director of the Pediatric Heart Institute Outcomes Center at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
Dr. Well leads initiatives to identify and optimize patient and family-centered outcomes for children with congenital heart disease and their families. His work involves innovative mixed-methods research integrating value-based healthcare and design thinking principles. He has a particular focus on the identification of meaningful outcomes for patients with congenital heart disease and their families across the lifespan, how to measure those outcomes effectively and efficiently, and utilizing advanced analytics to leverage the collected data to redesign care delivery to improve those meaningful outcomes.
Previously, Dr. Well served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Perioperative Care at the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin and was the Assistant Director of Health Transformation and Patient Experience at the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease at Dell Children’s Medical Center. His work reflects a dedication to advancing healthcare systems through high-value health care transformation and applying data-driven solutions to improve care delivery and patient outcomes.
