Dr. Susie Lin is an associate professor and program director in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Since 2017, she has been the residency coordinator at Vanderbilt. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. 

Dr. Lin received her undergraduate degree, a B.S. in Biochemistry, Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, NY. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. She completed her medical degree and residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vanderbilt. Dr. Lin completed a Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. 

Her research interests include studying different hypotensive anesthesia techniques in orthognathic surgery with regard to intraoperative blood loss, quality of surgical field, and postoperative nausea and vomiting; the effects of age and presence of third molars on the occurrence of unfavorable splits during sagittal split osteotomy; and intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy with rigid internal fixation - the effects of this procedure on the TMJs and the prevalence of surgical complications. 

Dr. Lin has authored and co-authored many research articles in peer reviewed journals and book chapters. She currently serves as an examiner in the Oral Certifying Exam Committee for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She is a reviewer for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
