The following information briefly describes the types of support you will receive as a MAGEC trainee.
Stipend
MAGEC trainees receive a monthly stipend appropriate to their background and postgraduate experience and based on current, published NIH guidelines for postdoctoral stipend amounts.
Employee Benefits
MAGEC trainees receive Vanderbilt employee individual benefits, including health insurance, life insurance, retirement, and long-term disability. In addition, optional coverage is available for accidental death & dismemberment, dental insurance, vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, and short-term disability with a discounted rate.
Tuition Benefit
The MAGEC program provides up to $4,500/per year to support fellows taking didactic training or attending a workshop.
Travel Benefit
Each MAGEC trainee receives financial support to attend a scientific conference at least once per year if they have an abstract accepted.
