Center Aims

RAPID-LHS Center

Aims

The RAPID-LHS Center will address multiple AHRQ/PCORI priority areas and fill gaps in existing training programs. The leadership team and mentors provide the content, analytical expertise, and experience necessary to guide scientists and other center users in addressing LHS priorities, learning LHS methods, engaging communities, and completing patient-centered outcomes research with plans for implementation to improve health.

Specific Aims

  • Train faculty in the principles of LHS science by integrating didactic training and embedded research in real-world settings across VUMC, Meharry, VA, community hospitals and clinics, and STAR CRN.
  • Provide a transdisciplinary LHS curriculum that instills the competencies required for the design, adaptation, dissemination, evaluation, implementation, and sustainment of interventions in diverse health care contexts.
  • Ensure a diverse, interdisciplinary perspective by engaging and involving scientists, faculty, and stakeholders from multiple diverse disciplines, institutions, and communities.
  • Provide infrastructure support for methods/design, informatics, biostatistics, stakeholder engagement, and implementation to optimize project performance using the RAPID-LHS Research and Data Analysis Core.
  • Evaluate program success guided by the logic model and using continuous improvement, incorporating process and outcome metrics to enhance program performance.
