As Associate Dean of the VU School of Engineering, one of Cynthia B. Paschal’s responsibilities is to facilitate overseas study by VUSE undergraduates. She supports students pursuing engineering study abroad in approximately 30 different universities around the world. She also welcomes and supports incoming exchange students studying in VUSE.  As a biomedical engineering faculty member, Paschal has taught both local and international biomedical service learning courses. She has led teams of engineering students to Guatemala to test and repair biomedical equipment in hospitals there. She has also worked with local organizations providing medical equipment and services to international populations both in Nashville and abroad. Her additional interests are in Industry – university partnerships, professional development and career placement for engineering students, and biomedical imaging.
