2019 Global Health Case Competition

The annual Vanderbilt Global Health Case Competition took place on Saturday, February 16, in Featheringill Hall Auditorium and Atrium. This year's case topic was “Improving Non-communicable Disease Care through Expansion of Lwala's Services." Lwala Community Alliance is a Kenyan-founded organization and "community‐led innovator proving that when communities lead, change is drastic and lasting." Its mission is “to build the
capacity of the people of Lwala to advance their own
 comprehensive well-being.”

On the day of the competition, teams of students had ten minutes to present their proposals to a panel of judges. First place was awarded to Kevin Iflora, Alexandria Luu, Sarah Rachal, and Joyce Kariuki, whose presentation was entitled, “syncd: synergistic solutions for non-communicable disease.”

As the winning team of the Vanderbilt Global Health Case Competition, they will represent Vanderbilt at the 2019 International Global Health Case Competition held at Emory University on March 15-16, 2019.
