Conference Attendees Unite in Support of Fogarty International Center

Global health scientists from around the world who attended the 2017 annual meeting of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health display wristbands to show solidarity in support of [or show gratitude for support from] the NIH Fogarty International Center. Since 2012, the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health (VIGH) has directed one of five Fogarty Global Health Fellows training consortia, and from 2007 to 2012, VIGH administered the Fogarty International Clinical Research Scholars and Fellows Program worldwide.

 Vanderbilt faculty from across campus will have a strong presence at the 2016 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI). In particular, VIGH core faculty Muktar Aliyu M.D., M.P.H., Dr.P.H and Kate Clouse Ph.D., M.P.H. and VIGH affiliated faculty will be presenting their work on optimizing the PMTCT cascade. The Politics of Health Conference 2013

Vanderbilt University’s The Center for Medicine, Health & Society (MHS) hosted “The Politics of Health,” a two-day conference on current debates in medicine, which took place on our campus, in our country, and around the world. The conference, held October 3 and 4, 2013, on the Vanderbilt campus featured discussion and debate about the politics of health among national opinion leaders, local stakeholders, and the Vanderbilt community. The event was free and open to the public. 

Registration Open for CUGH Conference

The Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) will bring together more than one thousand committed leaders, professional educators, and students from diverse fields of study including engineering, business, law, policy, chemistry, biology, communications, nursing, public health, medicine, oral health, and environmental studies to explore, discuss, and critically assess the global health landscape.
 
 The Fourth Annual CUGH Conference will be held March 14-16, 2013 in Washington, D.C. Registration is currently open.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) recently hosted its 2012 National Consultation conference in Washington, D.C. The conference attracted a record number of refugee service providers, partner agencies, honored guests and attendees who shared best practices and personal stories centered on this year's theme: Transforming Hope into a Brighter Future.
