Epidemiology of Colorectal Cancer in Ghana

Dr. Leon Raskin (VICC member) is a PI of an ongoing collaborative Molecular Epidemiology of Colorectal Cancer (MECC) study with researchers from the University of Ghana, Accra, Ghana. The collaborators work on establishing a hospital-based case-control molecular epidemiology study of colorectal cancer in Ghana, the first in Sub-Saharan Africa. The investigators will study clinical, pathological, molecular, and genetic features of colorectal tumors, as well as nutritional and life style factors associated with the risk of colorectal cancer in Ghana.
