Rainelli is currently investigating regulatory mechanisms of SPAK/OSR1 kinases.
Rainelli attended Meharry Medical college where he obtained his Ph.D in biomedical sciences. He also attended the University of Montreal in Quebec where he majored in biochemistry (B.S.), and Laval University where he obtained a Masters in Sciences in Molecular Biology.
