Advanced Clinical Experience (ACE) - Medical Ethics, MED 5825
This course is designed as a capstone experience in ethics, building upon the ethics components in FMK and FCC. The core activity will be participation in the activities of the clinical ethics consultation service provided to Vanderbilt Medical Center by the faculty of the Center for Biomedical Ethics and Society. Activities during this 4-week ACE will include directed readings in areas related to the consult work, attendance at conferences, lectures, case reviews and additional work in ethics of special interest to the student’s future residency training. The course will fulfill the immersion course requirement for the Certificate in Bioethics, although being a candidate in the Certificate Program is not a requirement for taking this course.
