Scientific research has shown that early rehabilitation enhances functional outcomes. Our new service offers PM&R consultations to patients at the Vanderbilt University Hospital. Our PM&R faculty rounds with clinicians in various acute care units such as the trauma center and the neuro ICU. Comprehensive evaluations of patients are conducted and decisions are made regarding the post-acute placement as well as recommendations for early rehabilitation interventions.
