Valorie Vanarsdall

Valorie was born and raised in Fairfax, VA and received her B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Vermont. During her four years, Valorie researched Salmonella enterica stress response in Dr. Andrea Etter’s nutrition and food sciences lab and received the Distinguished Undergraduate Research Award for her project. After graduating in May 2024, she moved to Nashville to pursue a career in scientific research and hopes to achieve a master’s and PhD. As a member of the Nicholson and Skaar labs, Valorie is researching Clostridioides difficile in pediatric IBD patients and assisting Dr. Sarah Price in her research on microbe-host interactions focused on C. difficile.
