Jian Guan, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow
Jian was born and raised in Qingdao, China, and earned his BS in Biology from Ocean University of China. For his PhD studies, he moved to Ann Arbor to work in the laboratory of Dr. Ursula Jakob at the University of Michigan, where he studied the roles of biomolecular condensates in bacterial stress response. In the Skaar Lab, Jian aims to understand how Clostridioides difficile acquires metal during interbacterial competition.
