Whitney Holden is the Life Science Specialist at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts. She teaches classes like Science of Biology, Microbiology, and Infectious Disease in History and Culture, while mentoring students in individual life science capstone research projects. Several of her students have competed among the best in the world at the International Science and Engineering Fair. Whitney also co-directs three outreach programs: Advanced Biology Plus, a training program for AP Biology teachers; the Arkansas Summer Research Institute, a professional skills workshop for STEM undergraduate students; and the Biomedical Sciences Summer Institute, a program for high school students interested in microbiology, epidemiology, forensic science, and infectious disease. Whitney loves to teach so much that she even has her own YouTube channel, Biology Professor, which has almost 40,000 subscribers and 4 million views from around the world.
