JP has served on Capitol Hill in the Office of Governor Haslam and the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities since 2013.  As a legislative liaison, he helped guide the Governor’s key initiatives through the legislative process, including TNTogether, which combats the opioid epidemic.  

Prior to state government, JP was a Metropolitan Nashville Police Officer serving multiple roles including patrol officer, flex officer, and school resource officer. 

JP came to Tennessee from Michigan to serve in the US Army’s 101st Airborne Division.  He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  

JP is a graduate of Lipscomb University.  He enjoys fly fishing, golf, and University of Michigan football.  He resides in Franklin with his wife, Biz, and two daughters, Joie and Lulu.
