Summer 2019

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Kelly Brown, MD, will be assuming the role of executive medical director of the Neurosciences Patient Care Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Nancy Brown

Dr. Brown joined Vanderbilt in 2013. She is board certified in internal medicine, general neurology, sleep medicine and epilepsy. Prior to her arrival in Nashville, she was on the faculty at Washington University in St. Louis. Later she worked in a private practice, where she served as director of clinical operations.

Dr. Brown is currently vice chair of clinical operations in the Department of Neurology. In her new role for the Neurosciences PCC, she will work with departments and divisions across Vanderbilt to improve alignment and enhance growth. These efforts will include accomplishing Vanderbilt's pillar goals, emphasizing clinical and surgical care. Most importantly, she will work to reduce barriers to care for our patients and referring providers. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Brown in her new role.

This issue of Neurosciences includes stories related to autism, pediatric neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery and teleneurology. These highlight the many ways in which Vanderbilt Neurosciences influences care for patients regionally and nationally, at our Nashville campus and across the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network. The growth of Vanderbilt clinical services during the past year has been astounding, and Neurosciences has been a key part of that growth.

We are honored to serve the patients you refer to us. We invite you to call on us at any time in the coming year.

Sincerely,
