David W. Martin, Ph.D. (1994-1997) completed his training and obtained a position as an Assistant Professor at Emory University, Atlanta, GA.

Sanjeev Mendiratta, Ph.D. (1995-1998) completed his training and obtained a position as a Scientist at Zysus Research Center, India.

Nagendra Singh, Ph.D. (1997-2000) completed his training and continued with post-doctoral training at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA. He is currently an Associate Professor (with tenure) at the Medical College of Georgia.

Andres G. Grandea, Ph.D. (1998-2001) completed his training and obtained a position as a Scientist at Omeros Medical Systems, Inc., Seattle, WA.

David Scherer, Ph.D. (1998-1999) conducted part of his training with us. He is currently a Scientist at Celtrans, LLC, Palo Alto, CA.

Avneesh K. Singh, Ph.D. (1999-2005) completed his training and moved to the NIH. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland.

Liqi Li, Ph.D. (2002-2003) conducted part of her training with us and subsequently moved to the NIH. She is currently a researcher at the NIH.

Michael T. Wilson, M.D., Ph.D. (2002-2003) completed his PhD thesis with us and conducted part of his postdoctoral training in the lab. He is currently an Instructor at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA.

Shr-Jeng Leu, Ph.D. (2003-2005) completed his training and obtained a position as an Associate Professor at the National Yang-Ming University in Taipei, Taiwan.

Jingbo Yan, Ph.D. (2002-2006) completed his training and moved to the University of Texas (Houston, TX) where he continued as a researcher.

C.Y. Wu, M.D. (2005) was a visiting scholar from China. She is currently a Professor and Vice-Chair of OB/GYN at Tongji Medical University in Wuhan, China.

Yanice Mendez-Fernandez, Ph.D. (2005-2009) completed her training, and is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of New Haven (New Haven, CT).

Danyvid Olivares-Villagomez, Ph.D. (2000-2009) completed his training, and he is currently an Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Vrajesh Parekh, Ph.D. (2003-2012) completed his training and was subsequently promoted to Research Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He obtained a position as a Scientist at Pfizer in San Diego, CA.

Lindsay Celada, Ph.D. (2015-2016) completed her training, and is currently an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX).

Guan Yang, Ph.D. (2018-2021) completed his training, and is currently an Assistant Professor at the City University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong).

Graduate Students

Seokman Hong (1994-2000) was a PhD candidate in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (IGP). He completed his thesis and earned a PhD degree. He is currently an Associate Professor at Sejong Unversity in Seoul, South Korea.

Jean-Paul Kovalik (1995-2000) was a MD/PhD candidate in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). He completed his thesis and earned a PhD degree. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore.

Michael T. Wilson (1999-2003) was a MD/PhD candidate in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). He completed his thesis and earned a PhD degree. He is currently an Instructor at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.

Sungjune Kim (2004-2008) was a MD/PhD candidate in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). He completed his thesis and earned a PhD degree. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa, FL.

Saif Lalani (2004-2008) completed his course work and earned a Master degree.

Curtis Gabriel (2007-2009) was a MD/PhD candidate in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). He performed part of his thesis in the lab, and is currently a resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Aaram Kumar (2014-2016) completed his course work and earned a Master degree.

Undergraduate Students (recent)

Michael Greer (2012-2014) performed his work study while attending Vanderbilt University. He is currently a graduate student at Vanderbilt University.

Ashwin Inala (2020-2021) performed his research as part of the Neuroscience Program at Vanderbilt University. He is currently working as a research assistant at Yale University.

Medical Students (recent)

Joseph Hsiao (2013) was a participant of the Vanderbilt Medical Student Research Training Program in Diabetes. He performed his research in the lab during the summer of 2013.

Connie Cao (2015) was a participant of the Vanderbilt Medical Student Research Training in Diabetes. She performed her research in the lab during the summer of 2015.

Rajeev Dalal (2016) was a participant of the Vanderbilt Medical Student Research Training Program in Diabetes. He is performing his research in the lab during the summer of 2016.

High School Students (recent)

Vincent Harris (2015) was a student at Martin Luther King Academic High School, and a participant of the School for Science and Math Program at Vanderbilt University (SSMV). He performed his research in the lab in 2015. He will be attending college at Washington University (St. Louis, MI).

Nash Zhao (2015) was a student at Martin Luther King Academic High School. He performed his research in the lab in the summer of 2015. He will be attending collage at Vanderbilt University.
