To report an elevator malfunction, please contact Facilities Management Call Center at 615-322-2041.

Please have the following information available:

·         Building Name

·         Elevator Number (normally found around the elevator opening) 

Be sure to let them know if anyone is trapped in the elevator or if there are any injuries.

When a pest problem is encountered, the reporting departmental or faculty designee contacts Environmental Services (EVS) or representative listed below with the specific information (i.e., type of pest (if known), department name and location, contact person’s name, and local telephone number).

Please follow these directions to attach a document or photo to any type of work request.

For adjustments to a patient room, office, conference room, lecture hall, laboratory or other public spaces, please submit a Facilities Service Request or call Facilities Management Call Center at 615-322-2041

Requests to a repair/replacement of an indoor or outdoor light submit a Facilities Service Request or contact Facilities Management Call Center at 615-322-2041.

To report an ACTIVE LEAK, please contact Facilities Management Call Center at 615-322-2041.

To report an issue with a plumbing fixture (sink, toilet, faucet, or shower), please submit a Facilities Service Request or call Facilities Management Call Center at 615-322-2041.

To report a broken door or dispenser (paper towel, toilet paper, hand sanitizer), please submit a Facilities Service Request or call Facilities Management Call Center at 615-322-2041.

To report an issue with a Patient Care refrigerator or water/ice dispenser, please submit a Facilities Service Request or call Facilities Management Call Center at 615-322-2041

Please be prepared to specify the location and nature of the repair.

Submit a Facilities Service Request for repair or contact Facilities Management Call Center at 615-322-2041 to report a broken bed, stretcher or wheelchair.

If this is a life-threatening emergency, please DIAL 911 immediately from any campus phone or 615-421-1911 from any other phone.

For a facilities emergency, call the DELTA Operations Center at 615-322-2041. The DELTA Operations center is the medical center’s main control center for monitoring fire alarms, security alarms, and building control systems.

For all other non-emergency problems, please contact Facilities Management Call Center at 615-322-2041.

If this is a life-threatening emergency, please DIAL 911 immediately from any campus phone or 615-421-1911 from any other phone.

For a campus security issue (non-emergency), please contact VUPD at 615-322-2745.

For laboratory safety concerns, please contact OCRS at 615-322-2057. 

For all other safety concerns, please contact Facilities Management at 615-322-2041.

To report an environmental concern, please contact the Office of Clinical and Research Safety (OCRS) at 615-322-2057.  

If the concern is location-specific, please note the location in your message.

VUMC Storage and Services department coordinates the moving of items for departments, faculty and staff in the medical center as well as collection of surplus items to be delivered to the Surplus Program. They also handle the set-up of chairs, tables, etc. for special events.

To request their services, please submit a Facilities Service Request for New Work or contact the warehouse at 615-936-4626.

NOTE: All surplus computer pick-up requests should be submitted as a Pegasus ticket.  The warehouse no longer transports surplus computers.

A facilities service request for New Work should be submitted for the removal of any unwanted electronics that need to be surplussed.

For both capital and non-capital property purchased with VUMC funds or funds from any external source, the management and control of such equipment extends to its final disposition. For all property that is no longer needed by the initial procuring department, it is VUMC's practice to manage the disposition of the surplus property centrally through the VUMC Storage and Services department.

It is a violation of medical center policy for any staff member to give or take receipt of Vanderbilt University Medical Center property.

Regular (Non-Hazardous) waste removal

Please contact the applicable Environmental Services (EVS) group serving the building for removal of or questions regarding regular (non-hazardous) waste.

Chemical waste removal

Biological waste removal

Is offered on a routine basis for the hospital by the different Environmental Services (EVS) groups and/or Stericycle. If there is a problem with routine biological waste removal, please contact the appropriate EVS group.
