WHAT ARE ALERTVU DESKTOP ALERTS?
As part of the expanded AlertVU emergency notification effort, desktop support staff are installing an application called Alertus to deliver AlertVU desktop alerts on PCs across the medical center. Mac users should download the software themselves using the link below unless your PC managed by VUMC IT.
AlertVU desktop alerts will display a full-screen notification whenever AlertVU is activated. This application operates behind the scenes, and has no impact on the performance of the computer. When AlertVU is activated, users will be asked to acknowledge that they have received the notification and then take action as directed or resume normal activity.
In the event of an emergency, AlertVU is one of the ways members of the VUMC community will receive information. All faculty and staff are automatically enrolled in AlertVU using their VUMC email address. Users may enter additional phone numbers by which they wish to receive voice or text alerts.
IMPORTANT: The download files above are available for members of the VUMC community for use on their personal computers while connected to the VUMC network. They should not be downloaded to your office PC unless instructed by your desktop team – that will be handled centrally in most areas.
You must be connected to the VUMC network onsite or via VPN if offsite for the software to function.
