Faculty and staff who provide emergency medical services on LifeFlight aircraft are required to have a yearly Emergency Medical Services (EMS) screening. This screening is necessary for the medical clearance of employees working in these positions to ensure the safety of the patients during transport and for the safe operation of emergency vehicles. Employees assigned to these areas are required to submit to a yearly examination at the Occupational Health Clinic. This examination will include:
- EMS-specific health history review
- Physical exam targeting cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and neurological systems, mental status, and ENT/equilibrium
- Vision screening for near and far vision, visual acuity, color, and depth perception
Employees who fly must also be enrolled in the Hearing Conservation Program and have an annual hearing test. Please call Occupational Health Clinic at 936-0955 to schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience.
