The VUMC Office of Internal Audit has a staff of professionals with the education, experience and credentials to make positive impacts in your areas. We have experience from a variety of public accounting, corporate and not-for-profit industries. We possess advanced degrees, professional designations and licenses. In order to maintain our professional certifications and stay up-to-date on issues impacting the Medical Center, we attend continuing education programs at both the national and local level.
Our recommendations are designed to help you assure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, and to manage your operations more efficiently resulting in a more effective use of resources. This may include alternate ways of approaching a program based on our experience with similar situations in other areas. As a result, we can identify processes, strengths and weaknesses quickly and make practical recommendations to ensure that your department’s operations are based on sound business practices that are in compliance with Medical Center policy and procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
In addition, our office provides advisory assistance to management by reviewing draft policies, serving Medical Center committees, participating in special projects and involvement with system development projects.
