[Adult] Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Nursing Certification Review Course, offered April 23 & 24 and October 5 & 6

Course Description:

This is a two-day course that provides the critical care nurse with a review of the AACNs core curriculum. The AACN Test Plan/Blueprint for the exam is used to provide central knowledge of care provided in the ICU with a review of nursing care and interventions for the critical care provider. This course is designed to assist with the preparation of the nurse to take the CCRN certification exam by the following objectives:

  • Describe the physiologic anatomy, pathophysiologic alterations and patient assessment for each system.
  • Describe assessment, diagnostic tools and therapeutic interventions relevant to patients in the ICU setting.
  • Demonstrate the application of critical thinking skills and patient advocacy as outlined in the AACN Synergy Model of Patient Care.
  • Discuss and practice test-taking skills with practice questions.

Presenters:

Abby Luffman, MSN, APRN, AGACNP, CCRN
Luffman has 13 years' experience in Trauma and CCRN since 2008. Currently, she works as a Nurse Practitioner for the Trauma Unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Andi Orr, BSN, RN, CCRN-CSC
Orr has 28 years of nursing experience in the critical care area and CCRN since 1993.  Currently, she works as a CSL in Adult ECMO and the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Vanderbilt University.

Lindsey Netzel, MSN, RN, CCRN, FCCS
Netzel has 9 years of nursing experience MICU, renal transplant, and nephrology unit, cardiac cath lab, organ donation and donor management, and CCRN since 2009.  She is currently the nursing education specialist for the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Palliative Care Unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Jason West, BSN, RN, NRP, CCRN, CEN, TCRN, CCEMT-P
West has 2 years of nursing experience and 20 years of paramedic experience, including critical care transport and flight arenas, CCRN since 2018.  Currently, he works as a staff nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and the Adult Emergency Department at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Contact Hours = 15 for two days; 7.5 per day
