Arna Banerjee, MD, will become director of the Center for Experiential Learning and Assessment (CELA) effective July 1, 2013. Dr. Banerjee has been Director of the Simulation Technologies Program at CELA since 2011. John Shatzer, PhD, is stepping down at the end of June as the Director of CELA; he will continue as director of the Masters Program in Health Professions Education.
Dr. Shatzer was a member of the team that launched CELA, and he was a leader in the design and construction of its state-of-the-art home on the third and fourth floors of Medical Research Building IV, which opened in 2007. Dr. Banerjee will continue to oversee the Simulation Technologies Program in addition to her new duties.
