Contact Hour Process and Eligibility

Contact Hour Process

To Develop a Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) event with Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) credit/contact hours:

  1. You must submit a request for contact hours.
  2. The request needs to be submitted 45 days prior to the proposed event date or at the start of the planning process, whichever is earlier.
  3. It may take up to 5 business days to process your request.
  4. Your program request is reviewed for eligibility by the Accredited Provider Program Director.
  5. Upon acceptance of the request for consideration, a Nurse Planner and Program Manager from the Provider Unit will be assigned to your event. The Nurse Planner will provide oversight as required by the ANCC. The Nurse Planner must be involved in all steps of the planning process. All required documents must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event to the Program Manager. You will work with your assigned Program Manager to identify the document deadlines.
