CloudCME Will No Longer Be Used
The VUMC ANCC Provider Unit will no longer use CloudCME for NCPD contact hour activities. Nurse planner documentation will be housed in SharePoint and electronic forms are collated via Smartsheet. Your nurse planner will prompt you to complete required documentation.
NOTE: for events that offer both ACCME/CME-MOC credit and ANCC/NCPD contact hours, CloudCME will continue to be used until further notice.
-
• A VUMC ANCC Provider Unit request form is required for all activities. • This request form takes the place of the CloudCME application. A CloudCME application is no longer needed. • On an annual basis, a one-time request form will be required for all activities seeking to provide contact hours. • This request must be submitted 45 days prior to the proposed event date or at the start of the planning process, whichever is earlier. • If there are additional dates to offer your activity beyond what was identified on your request form, you will need to communicate those directly to your assigned nurse planner. °
Late add-on dates or date changes (less than two weeks out) are not guaranteed to be awarded contact hours.
-
• Relevant financial relationship disclosures will be collected via an electronic form, provided to you by your assigned nurse planner. • This information will only be collected for clinical topics only (e.g., those activities that relate to patient care). • To ensure content integrity, we are required to have a process to assess for relevant relationships for every offering (versus a once-a-year collection).
-
• Your nurse planner will provide you with two standardized PowerPoint slides. • One is the required learner disclosure information that must be displayed to learners prior to the start of the activity. • The other is a slide with evaluation information (QR code and URL link). • Please encourage your nurse learners to complete the evaluation and obtain their contact hours certificate. Accredited education is valuable to their professional development. • NOTE: if your activity does not use PowerPoint, you can discuss alternatives with your nurse planner.
-
• REDCap will be used for the evaluation and certificate process. • Upon completion, learners will receive an emailed contact hours certificate. They must save their certificate as a retrievable learner transcript will no longer be available as it was in CloudCME. • The VUMC ANCC-trained nurse planner will provide you with a copy of activity evaluation results approximately 30 days after your activity.
-
• The collaborative process to plan for your activity must involve the assigned nurse planner to ensure ANCC criteria are being met. ° ANCC criteria requires the nurse planner to document various elements of the educational design process and will need your insight and collaboration to ensure that these elements are completed in a timely manner. ° The nurse planner will request a time to meet with you to review your identified gap in nursing practice to ensure educational design process criteria are met. A delay in meeting with the nurse planner may delay the ability to provide contact hours for your upcoming event. ° Ahead of your initial meeting, be prepared to articulate: ♦ the gap/opportunity for improvement as it relates to nursing (current and desired state) ♦ the underlying educational need (knowledge, skill, and/or practice) ♦ the desired measurable outcome for learners—what is the learner expected to know, show how, or do as a direct result of participating in this activity ° Following the initial meeting with your nurse planner, you will be required to provide: ♦ A list of names/contact information for anyone involved in the planning of the activity. ♦ A completed planning table—provided to you by the nurse planner (includes a content outline, presenter names/credentials, duration of time for presentation(s), learner engagement strategies, and evidence-based references) ♦ An agenda (if the activity is >3 hours in length) ♦ Details surrounding financial or in-kind support for your activity (if applicable)

Existing recorded/on-demand activities will remain accessible in CloudCME until their already determined expiration dates. For NCPD contact hour events moving forward, we will offer on-demand activities through the Learning Exchange instead of CloudCME.
