The Georgiev Laboratory at the Vanderbilt Vaccine Center (https://medschool.vanderbilt.edu/ig-lab/) has an opening for a postdoctoral position in the areas of immunology and vaccine design, with a focus on the development of novel vaccines and the analysis of vaccine-elicited immune responses. This is a multidisciplinary position that will involve approaches from immunology, virology, biochemistry, structural biology, and computational biology.
Applicants who meet the following requirements will be considered for the position:
*Ph.D. in immunology, virology, computational biology, or a closely related field
*Prior experience in several of the following areas:
- Protein expression and purification, and site-directed mutagenesis
- Assays for characterizing antibody-antigen interactions, such as binding (e.g., ELISA or BLI) and virus neutralization assays
- Immunization in animal models, such as mice, rabbits, or NHP
- Serologic analysis of immune responses
- Antigen-specific B-cell sorting
- Next-generation sequencing of antibody repertoires
*Experience in computational biology, molecular modeling, and/or structural biology is a plus.
*Strong oral and written communication skills
*Clear sense of organization, purpose, and accountability
Interested applicants should send a current CV and a brief statement of interest to Dr. Georgiev.
