Mingbin Yuan
Basic Scientist Assistant I
Mingbin obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry from University of Maryland, College Park in 2022, using density functional theory to perform mechanism-guided design of organometallic catalysts. Mingbin later joined the Theoretical Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory as a postdoctoral research associate, developing machine learning-augmented semi-empirical methods for f-element systems. He then joined Molecular Physiology & Biophysics Department of Vanderbilt University as a data scientist, combining physics-based simulations and data-driven methods to solve challenges in protein dynamics and structural biology. Outside the lab, you could find him watching games, hiking, and taking naps.
