Lyubov Popova

Staff Scientist

Dr. Popova received her M.S. in molecular biology from Kazan State University (Tatarstan, Russia) and holds her Ph.D. degree in Virology/Biochemistry from Oklahoma University, where she worked in the laboratory of Dr. G. Air. Her dissertation was focused on detailed analysis of directionality of polyclonal antibodies generated by patients in response to vaccination against the ever-changing H3N2 influenza virus and understanding the mechanism of how influenza virus escapes from neutralizing antibodies. During her Ph.D. training at the FDA and University of Chicago, Dr. Popova continued her research in influenza virology analyzing the broadly neutralizing human antibodies. Dr. Popova joined Dr. I. Georgiev lab as a staff scientist to study human immunity against various viruses.
