Kerri Miazgowicz

Kerri Miazgowicz is a postdoctoral fellow in the Georgiev lab. She received her B.S. in Microbiology from Michigan State University in 2012. After, she worked as a postbaccalaureate research fellow for 2.5 years in the Virus Ecology Unit at the NIH investigating molecular determinates of viral emergence. In 2020, Kerri earned her Ph.D. in Infectious Diseases at the University of Georgia while co-advised by Drs. Courtney Murdock and Melinda Brindley. Her projects focused on improving temperature-dependent trait-based R0 models along with interrogating mechanisms of Chikungunya virus cellular attachment. Since 2020, Kerri has focused on clinical reagent and assay development across multiple sectors spanning private biotech to state and federal government. Outside of lab, Kerri enjoys rock climbing, cycling, and kayaking.
